Who we are

Morgan & Masterson is a consulting partnership that focuses on global healthcare issues, providing scientific support for top level corporate strategic decisions relating to new medical technologies, product liability and risk management and health economics, particularly in the areas of biomaterials, medical devices, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

The two partners of Morgan & Masterson are Professor David F. Williams and Ms. Peggy O’Donnell. Professor Williams was Head of Clinical Engineering at Liverpool University until 2007.  He has 40 years of experience in biomaterials and medical technology.  He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering of the UK, and is currently Emeritus Professor at Liverpool, Professor and Director of International Affairs at the Wake Forest Institute of Regenerative Medicine, North Carolina, USA and a Visiting or Guest Professor at Universities in Cape Town, South Africa, Sydney, Australia, and Beijing and Shanghai, China.  He is also Editor-in-Chief of the top ranking journal Biomaterials.  Peggy O'Donnell has lived and worked in Europe for the last 20 years and specialises in representation of multinationals, event organisation and medical information science; she holds a masters degree in Library and Information Science.  She is Managing Editor of Biomaterials.

·         Expert testimony on product liability issues concerned with implantable defibrillators, heart valves and soft tissue implants.

 

·         Expert testimony in patent litigation concerning intravascular stents, heart valves, intravascular occluders and breast implants.

 

·         Failure analysis of implantable devices and design of strategies for risk management after device failure.

 

·         The design of strategies for regulatory submissions of complex products in Europe and the USA, including scientific opinions on risks of carcinogenicity.

 

·         Reports for national governments on global issues in healthcare and medical device technology.

 

·         Delivery of the scientific programme for BiomaterialsAsia, Hong Kong 2009.
